Alumni as Mentors allows final-year students to connect with alumni mentors in mutually beneficial partnerships aimed at helping students in their transition into work life. Mentoring offers students the opportunity to improve their employability skills and understanding of the world of work, while alumni can enhance their personal and professional development, gain satisfaction from giving back, and connect in a meaningful way with the university community, wherever they are.

The programme team also assists students to connect with mentors whose experiences and motivations align with the students' aspirations and mentoring goals. The default length of the mentoring partnerships is 6 months.
Local mentors and students in confirmed mentoring partnerships are requested to join the programme launch (26 March) and encouraged to attend other networking events during the programme.

Connecting with the community
Alumni as Mentors is made up of a growing community of alumni and students. The programme offers an opportunity to connect with this supportive network. The networking events are an important part of the mentoring programme, allowing mentees to practice valuable networking skills and enabling connections between mentoring pairs. The team encourages all mentors and mentees to join the events to connect with the wider community. One of the greatest values of mentors is the ability to see ahead what others cannot see and to help them navigate a course to their destination. - John C. Maxwell
